Once each year, Greystone Golf & Country Club becomes the center of one of Alabama’s most celebrated sporting traditions.

Regions Tradition — one of the five major championships on the PGA Tour Champions — brings together elite competition, a nationally recognized Celebrity Pro-Am, and a longstanding commitment to giving back. Since 1992, the event has helped raise more than $25 million for Children's of Alabama.

There’s simply nothing else like it in Alabama. For Greystone members, it’s a point of pride, a tradition the community rallies around, and one of the most anticipated weeks of the year.

The History Behind
the Tradition

A major championship doesn’t plant itself permanently at a course unless that course is exceptional, the club behind it is exceptional, and the community has earned the right to hold it.

The Tradition dates back to 1989, making it one of the sport's most storied senior major championships. Generations of senior golfers have tested their mettle on the Founders Course.

Greystone has hosted professional golf since 1992 and has been the tournament's permanent home since 2016.

Continuing a tradition that has raised over $25 million for local charities, with Children's of Alabama as the primary beneficiary.
