Golf at Greystone

golf intro

Playing here means something.

Thirty-six holes ranked among Alabama's best. The Blackburn Academy to sharpen your game. And each spring, the state’s only course to host the PGA Tour Champions.

The Founders Course at ggcc

The Founders Course

Designed by renowned architect Bob Cupp and Alabama native Hubert Green, the Founders Course opened in 1991 and quickly established itself among Alabama’s premier golf experiences.

Stretching 7,299 yards through the Appalachian foothills, it has long served as the home of The Tradition.

The Legacy Course at GGCC

The Legacy Course

Where Founders rewards patience, Legacy demands shot-making. World-famous architect Rees Jones built 7,151 yards of precision golf with a slope of 146 — a course that reveals weaknesses early and rewards the ones who adjust.

the regions tradition

The Tradition

Once a year, the PGA Tour Champions comes to Greystone for one of professional golf's five major championships. The Tradition is the highlight of both the golf calendar and the social calendar.

A week that brings championship golf, community celebration, and meaningful giving together in one place. Since 1992, the tournament has raised over $24 million for local charities, with Children's of Alabama as the primary beneficiary.

The Blackburn Academy

Back-to-back Golf Digest #1 instructor, recipient of the inaugural Butch Harmon Award, and the 2020 PGA Teacher & Coach of the Year, Mark Blackburn has built one of the most respected coaching resumes in golf.

Members benefit from instruction shaped by experience at the highest levels of the game, with Blackburn's client roster including prominent golfers like Justin Rose, Max Homa, and Matt Fitzpatrick.

Mark's Coaching Code framework moves students through swing fundamentals, skill development, and score-focused performance, always built around the individual's body-swing connection.

Six full-time coaches apply that same philosophy across every level, from first-time beginners to PGA Tour professionals.

The Academy is housed in our 2,500 square foot Greystone Performance Center, offering modern swing technology, dedicated practice facilities, and direct access to our championship courses. What you work on here shows up in the next round.

Play With Your People

Some relationships are built faster on a golf course than anywhere else. A few hours together, a little competition, and easy conversation have a way of turning introductions into lasting friendships.

At Greystone, new pairings become standing tee times, first-time visitors become regular guests, and business connections grow naturally round after round.

Through member events, club tournaments, and corporate outings hosted throughout the year, Greystone creates opportunities to connect — season after season.

In Their Own Words

"This has been such an encouraging club to be part of.
Everyone here truly cares about growing this game for the next generation."

—Carmen Britt, [Greystone Member]
